As a consumer, I should be able to decide and buy my choice for the best fuel type, recommended by my engine's manufacturer for all of my gas-powered motors. Today, the EPA, ACE, ethanol producers, and other government, private and public companies, control that decision. Agree
My right to choose NON-ethanol fuel (gasoline without alcohol) has been in recent years limited, controlled or taken away by those companies and regulating agencies who wrongly believe that the E10 fuel type is safe, appropriate and manufacturer-approved for all conventional engine types. Agree
The EPA's recent unwarranted approval and introduction of a new conventional E15 gas type which will contain 50% more ethanol than approved by all current manufacturer recommendations/warranties, is further substantiation that choosing the most appropriate gas type at the pump should be determined by the engine owner. For those who choose to use higher ethanol blends, it should only be allowed in manufacturer-approved engines with E85 fuel (85% ethanol) used only in specially-designed flex fuel vehicles. Agree
I own or use engine(s) that require and/or perform best on NON-alcohol fuel types, including: (Include engine year, type, model and if applicable, manufacturer gas recommendations).
Due to the limitation of only ethanol-blends (E10 gas) being sold in my neighborhood of (enter location in box at right) I have experienced negative and unnecessary consequences and/or inconvenience and/or added expense.
(Include town, county, state and/or zipcode).
* Details - ENGINE & GAS PROBLEMS: The negative consequences I have experienced due to purchase/use of E10 gasoline, include, but are not limited to...
(Check those that apply).
Decreased gas mpg and increased fuel costs;
Rapid gas contamination due to E10 fuel water absorption;
Gas-caused part(s) disintegration, deterioration and/or damage; (E.G. Premature replacement or repair of fuel pumps, hoses, gas tanks and/or carburetors).
Gas-caused engine damage with expense(s) incurred for repair or replacement of engine;
Performance issues; (E.G. decreased engine power, hesitation, stalling).
Engine usage requires prolonged gas storage beyond expected shelf life of E10;
Bought E10 gas (unknowingly) contaminated at time of sale;
E10 is not the fuel type recommended by my engine's owners manual and warranty statement;
Other E10 gas problem(s) not listed above.

Additional Comments: - OPTIONAL - Supportive of why E10 and/or E15 is not the correct fuel type for your engine(s).
I request the EPA pass regulations that would guarantee both "choice and availability" of a non-ethanol fuel type at public gas stations...
By signing this petition, I join thousands of other voices that believe the EPA must immediately take action to protect my right and freedom to choose a non-ethanol gas type, by requiring the availability of an alcohol-free gas pump in every town and/or 10 mile radius area where gas is sold to the public.

* We urge commenters to include details, data or specific examples in support of their need to purchase and use gasoline that does not contain ethanol alcohol.
Only stating "I want non-ethanol fuel", will not be nearly as effective to reclaim your right to buy E0, as when you state something like,
"I want ethanol-free fuel because my specific XYZ model engine requires it, and I've experienced these (specify negative effects) as a result of ethanol-free fuel being no longer available in my specific (Anywhere USA 01234) location...

We wish to thank you for taking the time to participate in this cause.

The data obtained from identifying, summarizing and presenting the specific problems/obstacles/inconvenience/expense
that E10/E15 fuel has caused to so many, we hope will have a huge impact on future decisions rendered by the EPA and others, who have been rallying for years to increase sales in the ethanol industry (greed/profit motives).

We strongly believe, in a free democratic society, both our government and ethanol companies do NOT have the right to force/mandate purchase of only gasoline that contains ethanol alcohol!  Since no ban exists for E0 fuel type, it seems that the current non-availability of ethanol-free fuel in most areas of the U.S. goes against numerous Consumer Protection laws that are intended to protect fair trade.

We're convinced the EPA has lost sight of the real issues due to the relentless lobbying from ethanol producers; When they realize how damaging E10, and now E15 fuel, has been to so many engines, they'll soon come to the conclusion that offering E0 fuel (choice) at all public pumps is the only reasonable solution.

Suggested Contacts: To Help Protect Your Right to Purchase Ethanol-Free Fuel:

- Contact your local county and state legislators:
Federal Legislators: United States House of Representatives and U.S. Senate
They need more input from engine owners who have experienced problems with contaminated E10 gasoline to better represent all consumers.
- Contact your local gas company or branded corporate office:
E.G. Shell, B/P, Mobil, Exxon, Hess, Quik-Trip, Marathon, Valero etc. and your local fuel distributors, fuel terminal and oil refineries. When they know there's a strong demand for gas without ethanol (E0) they often will make extra efforts to also offer this type of fuel; E0 is often now referred to as "recreational" fuel.

We are an independent company and all information and support we've freely offered for years, including petitions, has recently grown so much (now that E10 is primary fuel type sold at over 95% of gas stations), we believe we will require VOLUNTARY financial support to continue these types of important projects.
