A link to the MSDS for Hess brand gasoline is included here, as just one example of ingredients gasoline may contain.

Note: All MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) are available to the public for all brands and types of gasoline.
ASTM standards (publication) can also assist you to learn about fuel specifications and gasoline requirements.

Hess MSDS No. 9950 (Gasoline All Grades) includes the following ingredients:

Gasoline (86290-81-5) 100 %
Benzene (71-43-2) 0.1 - 4.9 (0.1 - 1.3 reformulated gasoline)
n-Butane (106-97-8) < 10 %
Ethyl Alcohol (Ethanol) (64-17-5) 0 - 10 %
Ethyl benzene (100-41-4) < 3 %
n-Hexane (110-54-3) 0.5 to 4 %

A complex blend of petroleum-derived normal and branched-chain alkane, cycloalkane, alkene, and
aromatic hydrocarbons. May contain antioxidant and multifunctional additives. Non-oxygenated
Conventional Gasoline and RBOB do not have oxygenates (Ethanol or MTBE and/or TAME).

Hint:  Always also review section of gasoline MSDS pertaining to "solubility in water".
Hess MSDS 9950 states:

Non-oxygenated gasoline - negligible.
Gasoline with  ethanol is readily soluble in water.

Hess published above ingredients in MSDS dated 09/25/07.
Note: Since MTBE is now banned from use in gasoline, I expect they have an updated MSDS reflecting this change...I will update when available.
